Amazing home, amazing views, incredible experience.... Hot tub was disappointing as it wasn't hot and the jets didn't work. Perhaps regular maintenance would alliviate this issue.
Beautiful house with great views of the ocean and surrounding bluffs. Kitchen was well stocked and rooms were comfortable/nicely furnished. We only experienced two minor issues: (1) the home phone did not work and there was no cell phone reception in the house (or in most of the surrounding areas), and (2) the hot tub was way too hot to enjoy.

One of the best vacation home rental experiences I have had. Just wish I could have stayed longer. We needed many more sunset experiences sitting in the bench out front with a glass of wine.
We celebrated our 25th anniversary and the place was lovely. Our cell phones roamed the whole time and no internet are the two things we would change. Location was great but hot tub should be replaced with up to date one.
We spent four delightful days at this property. The house is lovely and comfortable, with a well-equiped kitchen, the ocean view is spectacular, and the location was perfect. We could easily walk across the road to the beach, Bodega Bay was within a few minutes drive, and the Sonoma wine country was an easy drive. We were able to do everything we wanted to do, and at the end of abusy day return to the tranquility of the ocean. We will be back!
My friends and I had a wonderful week in the wine country which was only accented by the fantastic house! We loved every minute in the house and were so grateful that the owners/management team thought of everything. Everything we needed from a beach cooler- to kites- to laundry soap- popcorn was already there...which made the whole trip even better. Thanks agin and we'll definitely be back!
The hot tub was not working properly. When we arrived it was set to 120 and we were unable to bring it to a level in which one could actually sit in it. So we were a bit bummed that we were unable to enjoy the tub in the evenings.
We had an amazing time. The house was in a great location and amazing views! Everything met or exceeded our expectations except the dishwasher does not work well, and the hot tub was broken. We would have loved to spend more time watching the sunset from the hottub.
We had a wonderful time. The internet pictures do not do the property justice. The house is very unique and very private. The views of the ocean, the waves, and sunsets were magnificent. My wife and I highly recommend this awesome getaway!
Our family of 4 absolutely loved this house. We were able to share the experience with my sister and her family who lived nearby. We cooked a couple of fabulous meals and it made it more oustanding with the great kitchen and the view, WOW!!! The only complaint was the hot tub needed work...the jets were not working and it was not hot enough. However, it is very hard to complain with the fabulous view. We really wish we could live in this house!
We had a lovely weekend at Seaside Escape with my parents who were visiting from upstate New York. The location of the house was perfect, directly across from a long stretch of open beach and within minutes of Bodega Bay. The house is beautifully designed, as is the landscaping, with a low berm in front of the house to block the sight and sound of the road that runs below the house. From the couches in front of the floor to ceiling windows in the living/kitchen/dining room, all you see is a wide view of the beach and the ocean. My only reason for not giving this property five stars is that there were signs of wear and tear indicating a rental season. We rented at the beginning of December, however, and I'm sure that the dead of winter is when these types of things are addressed. We told the rental folks of a few things that needed to be fixed when we checked out and they were very attentive. We would definitely rent this house again.
If you're looking at this property, then you don't mind spending $1000+ on a weekend getaway. Us either if it's worth it. Seaside Escape is worth it... My wife and I just spent three nights there for our thirteenth anniversary, and it was better than we'd hoped. For starters, the house is a carefully and lovingly designed structure. It’s like something Tim Burton would have dreamed up. (Think Betelgeuse.) No matter where you are in the home, you can't help but stare at all of the irregular lines sweeping across the house. The front room’s ceiling is a monolith that’s cantilevered through the curtain windows, and over the outside patio. Everything is either a triangle or a trapezoid, and the custom cabinetry is cut to match. And when I say it’s cut to match, I mean it’s dead nuts. Somebody did their best work on this. It feels like living in a piece of artwork... That artwork is complimented by the colors that were chosen for the interior. Again, you can see that someone put their heart and imagination into this. And the view is almost overwhelming. When you’re sitting in the Jacuzzi on the private deck with the love of your life, and you’re both watching the waves smash into the rocks again and again, you have this surreal moment. And everything is perfect…. We’ll be back next year…. (PS, Try the BBQ oysters and fish tacos at The Boathouse restaurant. They were great, and the guy who owns and runs the place treats customers like family.)
Upon arriving at the rental, we were a bit disappointed by the lack of central air and internet, and by the dirty windows. But after a little elbow grease the windows were a bit better. We opened all the doors and windows and got the house cooled down and could then use the shades to prevent 90 degree temps again. We did okay without internet, but it would have been helpful to plan our days a bit more. After the initial disappointment, the rest of the stay was delightful. We loved the views and the layout. We'd definitely return again! One other little thing... it would be nice to have a gas grill. Overall it was a fantastic rental and the area is beautiful!
We stayed 4 nights at Seaside Escape at the end of Sept. 2010. The property was perfect for 2 couples and the pictures on the website more than did it justice. It was a great location, with wonderful views of the ocean. The sunsets were magnificent from the patios or the hot tub. A lot of wildlife, from herons to hawks to deer. Highly recommended and I already have.
we loved this beautiful vacation house. Everything about it just makes us want to go back more. The amenities were awesome! We couldn't ask ffor more. And the location is perfect! What better way to enjoy sunset from the house. It truly was a wonderful vacation with lasting memories from this amazing beach house!
The home is absolutely beautiful with a panoramic view. I'm always looking for a place on the sand, so it could have been closer to the ocean and more accessible to the beach. But it was a fantastic vacation. I wish there would have been internet accessibility and cell phone, but we soldiered on. I'd definitely visit again.
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. It is truly a wonderful place to escape and unwind. We have shared our great experience with all of our friends and hope to return in the future.

We had a great time at the house. The views are incredible. From the living room, it feels like you are floating on the cliffs above the ocean. Plus, with an hour's drive, you can be in wine country, in the redwoods, or at the beach. So much to do in the area.
We had a wonderful, relaxing time at the house. It was certainly a perfect spot to stay in a hear the surf. We had perfect weather also! Only thing that could have been better would be some nicer pillows and how about a foam topper for the beds? Other than that we loved the place and will most likely be returning. Thanks!
Great location and surroundings
Whether in a raging storm or crystal clear 75-degree weather, Seaside Escape will treat you to a spectacular ocean panorama in an incredibly comfortable (and architecturally very cool) home. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better place to stay in the Bodega Bay area.
The setting and house were beautiful and certainly lived up to the expectation created from the on-line photos. It was fantastic to be able to see the ocean from the rooms in the house. The only problem was that the dishwasher seemed to have a faulty part that created a very loud buzzing sound that made us not use it for the visit.
Not as secluded as represented in photos. Air conditioning did not come on and it can get very warm with all the sun through the huge front windows. Great for viewing the Ocean though and it was very quiet around the house and neighborhood. About a five minute or less walk across the street and to the left to get down to beach or you can drive to many other areas of beach. The house was clean but has a funky smell when entering probably from the food previously ( garlic and fish) .. Washer and dryer came in very handy and everything you need to cook with was available, however; I did not cook. Also if it were up to me I would put a better shower head on the master shower. All in all a unique home with comfortable, contemporary furnishings and of course beautiful scenery. Thanks for letting us stay.
Beautiful location, lovely home, very comfortable. A few maintenance issues need looking after, which I'm sure will be taken care of.
We had a wonderful time at Seaside Escape. It is a perfect place to laze around and chill out! We made a 45 minutes trip to Tamales Bay Oyster company and indulged in oyster heaven. The house provided all we needed. The only thing was missing was shampoo! This unique building took our breath away with stunning views and effortless style.
Overall the home is beautiful! We were able to hear the waves crashing against the cliffs all night long. This was a great place to relax! The couches and chair were very comfortable and the overall feel of the home was comfortable. There were some spider webs around the home but other then that the home was clean. The staff was very nice and when I called to inform them that the jets in the hot tub were not working properly they had someone out that same day. It was too bad that they were not able to fix the tub prior to our departure. If the hot tub is important to you I would verify that the jets in the hot tub actually break the top of the water as opposed to just creating circulation. My cell service is through T-Mob and did not work at this location. However, my husband has Verizon and had full service. If the hot tub is working properly I would stay there again.
The Seascape is truly a Sonoma coast treasure. Very will thought out design, simple,comfortable,warm and with inspiring views.
We very much enjoyed the location. The house feels tired and neglected, though, and in need of new furniture, new kitchen (the dishwasher didn't work, nor did the exhaust on the stove) and certainly new mattresses and bed frames. For the price charged, that was the only disappointing part...otherwise, a delightful location.
Hot tub was broken for the first 2 days of a 3 day stay. Would have liked wifi connectivity. Would have liked an input jack for stereo to play digital music. (audio system is dated)
and things not being fixed. Cabinet door under sink needs rehung..fan fixed...more and brighter lights in bathrooms. Loved the area, will definately be back, just don't know if it would be at this home.
From the pictures, my sister and I thought we were renting a beautiful, retro, 70's era house just beyond the sand dunes in Bodega Bay. If the facts that the house was across the street from the beach, or that there was a tall cliff separating it from the beach - well, that would be OK, I suppose. But while the exterior of the house was merely a bit weathered (understandable with constant moisture and a wicked sea breeze coming off the ocean), the interior was dingy, slightly grimy, and in desperate need of paint. That was our first impression. Later, we were further disappointed in the lack of Wifi, so we couldn't plan our roadtrips, the cheap pots and pans, and the 90's era televisions - complete with digital converter boxes. Our late night hot tub soaks? Couldn't happen. We were forbidden to use the hot tub after 10 pm, although it was tucked away in the front of the house, unseen by houses around it. AND, the literature contained detailed instructions on how to sort garbage and clean the house upon checkout. I've rented houses from VRBO for years, and I've never seen anything like that. A little tacky for the price. Will not return.
great location, but a few things the property management company could do better. Windows were not cleaned -spoiling the great view. Hot Tub did not work Light bulbs on mirrors did not work No Wifi or mobile phone service available
We had a great time. The only negative was that we didn't spend much time at Seaside Escape because we tried to see everything in the short time we were there.
